FAQs
How should I brew loose leaf tea?
Place 1 teaspoon of loose-leaf tea for every 6 to 8 ounces of water into a strainer. Pour hot water over the strainer into your cup or teapot until the strainer is fully submerged. Let steep for 1 to 5 minutes depending on your preferred strength. Enjoy with your favorite add ins.
How should I care for my candle?
Trim the wick ¼ inch before each burn. When burning for the first time, allow for a 2 hour burn to avoid wax tunneling. Never leave a candle burning unattended or around children, pets or anything that may catch fire. We also suggest you not burn candles for longer than 4 hours at a time.

What is the difference between coconut wax candles and other kinds of candles?
Coconut wax burns cleaner and longer than any other wax. A longer burn time gives you better value for your candle purchase. Coconut wax has a better scent throw than other waxes.
Coconut wax is considered the best and healthiest type of candle wax because it doesn't produce as much soot as the other types of wax.
The most commonly available wax is paraffin wax. Paraffin is a petroleum by-product and is known to releases toxins when burned. Another common wax is beeswax and although it burns clean, it does not have a good scent throw and is not sustainable since it must be harvested from bees.
Are pesticides used in the coconuts sourced for your candle wax?
No. Coconut is a renewable and sustainable crop due to the high yield and crop renewal per acre. Coconuts do not require pesticides or any kind of fertilizers to grow. They are grown and harvested by hand. Coconuts are also non-GMO and have no genetic modifications, unlike soy.
Coconut wax is made using a process called hydrogenation – a natural process in which coconut oil is changed into wax. All of these benefits make coconut wax sustainable, eco-friendly and the best wax available.
Why do coconut wax candles cost more than the average candle?
Coconut wax produces a cleaner burn which means less soot in your home and in the air as you burn and extinguish your candle. Coconut wax better supports a beautiful, rich aroma throughout the life of the candle. Soy, paraffin and other waxes are widely used because of its greater availability on the open market, therefore those waxes are often cheaper.
Coconut wax is nontoxic and burns cleaner than other types of candle wax. Coconut wax emits no soot particles since it is petro carbon free. Coconut wax does not blacken walls nor add toxic carcinogens into the air you breathe.
Coconut wax burns longer than soy and other kinds of wax, about 10 to 15% longer for the same candle volume of other waxes. Our candles also have a superior scent throw when both cold and hot.
What is the burn time of your candles?
Our 7.5oz vessels burn for approximately 50 hours.
Where are your products made?
Our candles are made in small batches by a female owned candle wholesaler in California, USA. Our teas are sourced all over the world then blended by an artisanal tea supplier in New York, USA.
Do you offer wholesale, bulk, private label, etc.?
We are skilled at sourcing and would love to discuss such partnerships with you. Email theteaandcandlecompany@gmail.com
How should I store my teas?
Teas should be stored in a dark, cool place with minimal contact with air. Tea can stay at optimal freshness for years under the correct storage conditions.
Do coconut wax candles smell like coconut?
No. Coconut wax alone is odorless. Our candles smell like the assigned fragrance.
Does the scent last throughout your candle?
Yes. Our candle fragrances last through the very last burn.
Do you ship outside of the Unites States?
Due to the fragile nature of our products, we are only able to ship within the United States at this time.
